Vision Statement

As disciples of Jesus, peacemaker, justice seeker, and liberator, the United Church of Christ Palestine Israel Network affirms the dignity and sacredness of all people, stands against oppression and injustice, and works for peace with justice in Palestine and Israel.

Mission Statement

With Jesus’ commandment to love in our hearts and the Palestinians’ cry for hope calling us to action, we covenant to educate, equip, and mobilize the United Church of Christ in all its entities— local congregations, regional Conferences and national instrumentalities — for bold, prophetic witness and risk-taking advocacy toward the goal of a just and genuine peace in Palestine and Israel. Conducting our work in partnership with our own Global Ministries as well as other advocacy and solidarity groups, we commit to engaging the “logic of love” in pursuit of human and civil rights, security, and self-determination for all who share this land that each of the Abrahamic faiths – Islam, Judaism, Christianity -- call ‘holy.’

As an Organization we:

Educate

the UCC denomination-wide on the history and realities of life for Palestinians in Israel’s apartheid state, by means such as General Synod resolutions, newsletters, and the development of curricula

Engage

the U.S. Congress and Administration, equipping UCC PIN supporters to advocate for an end to the U.S. government’s complicity in funding Israel’s violation of the human and civil rights of Palestinians, and to insist that the U.S. alliance with Israel conforms to and upholds international law and U.S. law

Support

Kairos Palestine (the Christian Palestinian Movement born out of the 2009 Kairos Document), responding to their call for justice for all Palestinians by promoting the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement and Alternative Travel tours

Advocate

for civil rights here in the United States, defending the constitutionally-protected First Amendment rights of freedom of speech and assembly for those who are supporting and acting for Palestinian rights

Recognize

the intersectionality of oppression and advocate for persons experiencing racism, oppression and exploitation in any context or community
